January Lecture: Mirko Popadic
Tuesday, January 30th from 7 - 9 PM
Mirko Popadic of Mir Productions, Inc., is a lifelong Chicagoan and former student of Hans Schaal. Mirko is an independent producer, director, videographer, and editor. Over the years, he has been involved in education, theatrical arts, advocacy-related issues, and medical programs.

Mirko will present several short videos he produced and co-produced to help residents of the Uptown community fight for jobs, better housing, and justice:
5117 N. Kenmore 1979
Residents of the building describe the horrendous conditions that they live in, which eventually convince an absentee landlord that he is indeed responsible for the rat and insect infested apartments he rents.
Larger Apartments 1980
Residents of Uptown and Edgewater persuade the authorities at the Department of Housing to provide larger apartments for bigger families.
Continued to Death 1980
Residents of Uptown and Edgewater win a battle with the Cook County Court system by convincing the housing court to consolidate hearings on the same day and in the same courtroom.
Energy Videos 1980
Opposition to utilities rate increase.

Tuesday, January 30th from 7 - 9 PM @The Chicago Center for Photojournalism | 1226 W Wilson Ave, Chicago, IL 60640
